Who she is

Tensions in teams rarely appear suddenly. They grow when certain behaviours are tolerated, avoided or left unaddressed.

Teams quickly learn how the system works: which behaviour is confronted, which behaviour is protected, and where leaders prefer to avoid tension.

Annick Seys is a Behavioural Dynamics Specialist and keynote speaker. She works with leaders and organisations operating in environments where high performance, pace and complexity are part of daily operations.

Her work focuses on how pressure, pace and context shape behaviour, and what that means for decision-making, culture and performance.

She helps leaders understand how their own behaviour shapes the context in which team dynamics emerge.

Her experience and professional background

Annick brings more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of psychology, leadership and organisational behaviour.

Before focusing fully on keynote speaking and executive work, she ran her own business for more than twelve years, a leading training institute with four multidisciplinary group practices. During that time she trained and supervised thousands of professionals across several European countries.

Her background spans contextuale behavioural science, psychotherapy and leadership development, combining clinical depth with real organisational experience.

Annick is a certified trainer in Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) through the University of Washington. This model specialises in interpersonal behaviour. She is also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a behavioural science model centred on psychological flexibility.

She has been closely involved in the professional development, supervision and training of practitioners across several European countries. In addition, she has taught and guest lectured at institutions including KU Leuven, Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the University of Warsaw and has contributed to postgraduate and professional programmes focused on contextual behavioural science. She has also played an active role in the development of training standards within the ACT community in Europe.

In 2025 Annick was recognized as 'Highly commended' speaker at the London Speaker Awards.

What she does now

Today, Annick works with senior leaders and leadership teams operating in environments where high performance, pace and complexity are part of daily work.

She helps them understand the behavioural patterns within the teams they are responsible for. These patterns are often not in the interest of the organisation or the people working within it, yet they frequently persist in fast-moving environments because there appears to be no time to address them.

Decisions are made quickly, tensions are smoothed over, and behaviour that undermines culture or performance is easily tolerated.

From the inside, these dynamics are often difficult to see. People are capable, committed and well-intentioned, yet the way they interact with each other, with their leaders and with the organisation can become counterproductive.

Annick helps leaders and organisations step back enough to clearly see what is actually happening and respond with greater precision.

Applied Behavioural Dynamics™

Through her work, Annick developed Applied Behavioural Dynamics™.

Applied Behavioural Dynamics™ is her approach to understanding how behaviour becomes predictable under pressure and how leaders can use that insight to communicate and act with greater precision.

Rather than focusing on personalities, labels or quick-fix tools, Applied Behavioural Dynamics™ helps leaders recognise behavioural patterns that influence leadership dynamics, decision-making and culture.

This enables leaders to anticipate how people are likely to respond in high-stakes situations and to choose communication strategies that reduce escalation, cost and organisational damage.

The outcomes of her work

Annick’s work creates clarity.

When leaders understand how team dynamics emerge, they begin to see the role they themselves play in shaping the context of their teams.

Instead of seeing behaviour as something that simply “happens”, they start asking:

What context have I created that allows this behaviour to exist?

From that moment on, leaders begin to:

• recognise patterns earlier
• address colleagues directly about behaviours they can now clearly name
• create greater clarity around expectations and boundaries
• prevent energy from leaking into unspoken tensions

As a result, leaders and teams can refocus on what actually matters:

direction, collaboration and performance.

How she works

Annick works with organisations through keynotes, executive coaching, programmes, masterclasses and workshops.

Her approach is grounded, direct and human, combining behavioural insight with practical application.

Clients value her ability to bring clarity and depth, helping leaders adjust their behaviour in ways that feel natural, sustainable and human.

Based in Belgium, Annick works internationally and delivers her work in English and Dutch.
